I don't think, however, that there necessarily needs to be "poetry" in the delineations of what the Church sees as evil. Either way, all of these "new" ones can really be seen as examples (multiples in some cases) of the sins. Maybe the Church (or it's bureaucrats) shouldn't seek to create new sins, but seek to clarify the old ones and help guide its members in avoiding them.<BR/><BR/>1. “Bioethical” violations such as birth control - Pride, Lust <BR/><BR/>2. “Morally dubious” experiments such as stem cell research - Pride, Greed<BR/><BR/>3. Drug abuse - Sloth, Gluttony, Greed, Lust, Pride<BR/><BR/>4. Polluting the environment - Sloth, Greed<BR/><BR/>5. Contributing to widening divide between rich and poor - Greed<BR/><BR/>6. Excessive wealth - Greed<BR/><BR/>7. Creating poverty - Greed<BR/><BR/>6 out of 7 include Greed. As for the first two, I like that certain terms are placed in quotation marks, as if the author is himself unconvinced.
