ReplyDeleteIf you'll forgive me reverting to type, I do feel the editing could be a bit tighter -- just a second deleted here and there and you could shave a couple of minutes off the running time without ill effect. But it's already great just as it is, and it made me laugh out loud several times.
Richard -- I would love it if you would email me some specific examples of what you are talking about. this is the first time I have made something likes this and could use the advice. Do you mean like shaving off half seconds of like a weird reaction shot that goes to quickly into the next clip (cause I tried to do that and had some trouble, for example, on the clip of Simba I got a split second of his reaction to "you have forgotten me" that I could not get rid of. I am not sure iMovie is that precise or maybe I just don't know how to do it.
ReplyDeleteWell, I want everyone who read the previous comment to see this: the fact is, I sat down to watch the video again, ready to note the places where trimming would be appropriate…and I couldn't find anything. Extraneous half seconds and unnecessary reaction shots were precisely the things I was looking for, but having scrutinized this with a critical eye I didn't see any spots where the clips could have been trimmed much closer without doing harm to the scene itself. It was tighter than I realized on first viewing. I also have to add, it's even funnier on repeat viewings than it is the first time.
ReplyDelete(BTW, while I've helped friends with videos, I have no more professional experience than you do -- iMovie is my limit as well. I just always assume that everything I see or read needs more editing. I wouldn't want it to seem as if I was claiming superior knowledge in film…)
