Say whatever you want to in the comments to this post -- random, off topic thoughts, ideas, suggestions, questions, recommendations, criticisms (which can be anonymous), surveys, introductions if you have never commented before, personal news, self-promotion, requests to be added to the blog roll and so on. If a week goes by and I have failed to add you to the blog roll TELL ME TO DO IT AGAIN, and KEEP TELLING ME UNTIL IT GETS DONE. I can be lazy about updating the non-post parts of this site. Remember these comments can be directed at all the readers, not just me.
ALSO. You can use this space to re-ask me questions you asked me before that I failed to answer because I was too busy (but now might not be). That is often the reason I fail to get back to people, and on a blog, after a few days, the comments thread dies and I just kind of forget about it. Let's use this space to fix that, because it does need to be fixed; I look like a jackass sometimes, leaving people hanging. I will TRY to respond to any questions here.
AND you can use this space to comment on posts that are old enough that no one is reading the comments threads anymore. For example, if you thought of a great quote for the great quote commonplace book, but now no one is reading that, you could put it here. You do not have to have a blogger account or gmail account to post a comment -- you can write a comment, write your name at the bottom of your comment like an e mail, and then post using the "anonymous" option.
WRITING FOR THIS BLOG. If you think your free form comment here might be better as its own post, but you do not want it to be public yet, email it to me. My email address is available on my blogger profile page. If I think it will work on this site, your post will be published here with your name in the title of the post. You can propose what you will, I am always looking for reviews of games, tv, movies, music and books.

Geoff, any thoughts on the video for "Sax Rohmer #1," or on the song generally? In the fine tradition of the self-promotion you kindly encourage, I will provide a link to my own thoughts here.
I have great faith in the eventual greatness of Heretic Pride. I hope it's rewarded.
Hey Geoff -- link me up if you have time! http://scene-guy.blogspot.com
scene guy newishness: a post on Lupe Fiasco's "Hip Hop Saved My Life" and an interview with Hok from So You Think You Can Dance (haha yes.)
I, too, would be honoured to join the Klockian blogroll!

I wrote a reply to Newsarama's review of Messiah CompleX, on why its screwy undercutting of Whedon's Cyclops is so screwy. Most of it I've already said in the comments here, but it felt necessary for my sanity to put down all my thoughts in one place.
Later in the thread, it was asserted (by more than one poster!) that Marvel's solicitations are probably a less reliable source of information than the theories of Newsarama posters. With this in mind, I made a few predictions of my own.
Ahhh, internet.
I wrote a brief recommendation for a great documentary about Bruce Lee over at my blog. Due to Heath Ledger and the Joker becoming part of the Bruce Lee family curse by way of the smallest of synchronicities among the writers here, I thought some people might be interested in Bruce Lee's philosophy. Well, here's a great way to learn about it.
Check out Le Blog.
Wooo-hooo!
Lost is back!
PF -- You know the thing is with me, I LIKE things existing to some extent in a vacuum. I get an album. I listen to it a lot. So I did not even know about this song till I clicked the link. I own every album and listen to them all the time but did not know a lot of the things you talked about on your blog. So the answer is I liked it, but not much more than that. I will get the album the day it comes out or they day I remember. Remind me, would you?
scene -- thanks
dave -- sure! I am glad you are back to blogging and have supported me here by sending people my way. I appreciate it.
James -- thats hilarious.
Streebo -- thanks
Anon -- and pretty good to. I do not have much to say about the new episode other than that I liked it, but I may put something up soon.
LOST and the Mountain Goats? I am having a good time.
Oh yeah - Lost is back and infiltrating every cell of Thursday's programming. It'll take me all weekend to cover those three hours. The new one was excellent.
Also, anyone here listen to Vampire Weekend? Their album came out on Tuesday and they have a single with a non-album B-side, all on iTunes. Very good music, mining a vein that most bands nowadays don't - an Afro-pop/ska fusion that really works well.

Also on Letterman tonight.
I got something pretty good for you. Last night I was talking to my super ex-girlfriend on the phone. Since she is a counselor at a high school for troubled kids, I had to tell her about your analysis of the "30 Rock" Michelle Pfeiffer joke, which first required me to relate the actual line itself (neither of us watch the show).
First thing she said: "That's funny, because Michelle Pfeiffer..."
"... dated Alec Baldin?" I rudely interrupted.
"No, Michelle Pfeiffer ... that's 'Dangerous Minds' that they're referencing, right?"
"Yeah, I think so."
And she says, "So that 'poetry/rap' thing is especially funny, because in 'Dangerous Minds,' she teaches a math class."
Bam! A whole 'nother layer!
Um, she taught poetry...
Question about Astonishing X-Men #18. The new Hellfire club completely exists inside Emma's mind. Each member of the X-men is attacked mentally by Emma. At issues end, Summers is using a gun to shoot these mental projections and it's being seen by the other X-men. What is he shooting them with and how do the other X-men see it? It looked like Whedon put the scene it because Cyclops with a gun is "cool", but it really doesn't make any sense.
He's shooting them with Xavier's gun from Morrison's New X-Men. Nova/Frost is so powerful that these mental projections aren't just images, but have physical forms.
I dont have the issues in front of me but don't they show Cyclops explaining what's happening to them and the panel shows Scott watching Peter fight air?
Man, the ex lied!!! Now I look like an utter fool. Dang it.
I just wiki'd it. Okay, I get it now. She teaches "basic elementary education." So, all subjects then -- including poetry AND math?
