How far in the run do you plan to go? I took out the trades from the library, and I thought it was interesting how a little ways in Sam Kieth drops a lot of the superhero stuff and by the end, drops it entirely. But I imagine that being one of the image folks in the ninties, he was the first introduction to not-big two style stories to quite a lot of folks.
Scott: the cartoon was great. It was very much an early version of the "motion comics" DC is trying to sell us now -- every panel every line, limited movement. It was AWESOME. I do not know if it is on DVD.
HCD: I plan to go as far as I can, but I will drop it if it gets boring. You never know with these things. There are 35 issues but I know 20 is a great stopping point since that wraps up the main Julie-Maxx story. 21-35 is sort of The Maxx 2 with different caracters and a sappy ending for everyone. We will have to see.
Jason Powell has taken on the yeoman's job of doing an issue by issue analysis of Chris Claremont's 17 year Uncanny X-Men run in an effort to make me feel bad for saying Morrison invented all kinds of things he did not in his New X-Men run, and for spelling Claremont "Clairmont" in my superhero book.
Scott McDarmont (Scott91777) is an Instructor Of English at Radford University, Radford VA, an avid reader of books by guys named Chuck, he usually “waits for the trade” on comics unless Frank Miller is somehow involved. He owns more Def Leppard CDs than Bob Dylan CDs and he is ‘Ok’ with this and, while he may answer different publicly, he secretly feels that The Empire Strikes Back is the best movie ever made. He also feels that there are two kinds of people in the world: Indiana Jones people and John McClane people. He considers himself an Indiana Jones person
