Free Form Comments

Say whatever you want to in the comments to this post -- random, off topic thoughts, ideas, suggestions, questions, recommendations, criticisms (which can be anonymous), surveys, introductions if you have never commented before, personal news, self-promotion, requests to be added to the blog roll and so on. If I forget, remind me. Remember these comments can be directed at all the readers, not just me.

ALSO. You can use this space to re-ask me questions you asked me before that I failed to answer because I was too busy.

AND you can use this space to comment on posts that are old enough that no one is reading the comments threads anymore.

You do not have to have a blogger account or gmail account to post a comment -- you can write a comment, write your name at the bottom of your comment like an e mail, and then post using the "anonymous" option.

WRITING FOR THIS BLOG. If I see a big free form comment that deserves more attention, I will pull it and make it its own post, with a label on the post and on the sidebar that will always link to all the posts you write for this blog. I am always looking for reviews of games, tv, movies, music and books.

Geoff: Congrats on getting to Deadwood. Dunno if you've still just seen the first two, but you're in for a multitude of treats. The first episode is easily the weakest, I'd say.

Still only seen the first two, but I will get to them all -- Netflix is unrelenting. The first episode is the weakest? The first episode was not bad at all, so this is high praise.

It's ridiculously consistent.

Speaking of TV, I just started watching The Wire on Geoff's recommendation and it's an awesome show. Very, very well done. I like that it doesn't talk down to the audience.

Also, shameless slef-promotion - go read my blog, I have been posting semi-regularly and am attemtping my first issue-by-issue look at a series, Aztek. Don't know how successful it is, but there you go.

Matt -- glad you are liking the wire. I realized from your comment that your blog is not on my blogroll for some reason. That has been fixed.

Geoff, I saw on twitter you were listening to the new Kanye, what did you think?

I have not seen a hip-hop album in quite some time where people either loved it or hated it. I know people who hail it and some who are disgusted by it, but no inbetween.

I think it is an awesome album, personally.

MH. I am the one person you know who is in between about it. I think the production is AMAZING, but lyrically is is really weak, just him moaning about this "spoiled LA girl" all the time. There is something really perfect about the last song -- the live act in Singapore. You have to assume most of the audience does not speak English. That would be the very best way to listen to the album I think.

"Found a guy who had never read Watchmen. Gave him Watchmen. Cause that is what you do when you find a guy who has never read Watchmen."

I'm so glad to see that I'm not the only one whose assimilated Mamet-speak and Ocean's 11/12/13 banter into his everyday repetoire.

If this was said on Jan 1st, it'd be quote of the year. I'm still laughing my ass off, while thinking how I can rip it off this weekend.

Marc -- I do try. Thanks for noticing.
