I am totally excited -- on saturday night at the Huntington Cinema arts center on Long Island I am going to see a double feature of Kill Bill vol 1 and 2.

Also: I am off to England this week -- if all goes well I will have my doctorate on Thurs night.

On Saturday I plan on trying to avoid suffering too much from the extreme hangovers I, no doubt, have managed to build up this friday AND wallow in self-pity. Because I have mono and my girlfriend dumped me. Woot.

I have comics reviews on my blog from the past few weeks, plus some other "I wish I was as smart as Geoff" stuff.

The second episode of "It's Only Comics" is now out at our myspace and youtube. The YouTube URLs for the two-part episode are Part 1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KXKXhTSUTrQ
Part 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KgvX66_opE0

It's Only Comics is a comic news and info show with (hopefully) funny headlines, skits, and a roundtable discussion that solves the worlds problems. This week watch as I do my dramatic re-enactment of Robert Kirkman whacking off to 90s X-Men comics.

It's a high class production, lemme tell you.

Geoff, congrats on your impending doctor-dom. Doctoring?

In other personal news, I am most likely about to put down the security deposit on a storefront where my business partner and I will open our own comic and games shop. We're buying that part of the business from the store that we both work at now and are moving it across town (it's a small town). So yeah, that, the show, and I'm getting married in August. It's been a busy year.

Geoff: Cool. If my brother wasn't haviing a block party today, we'd be there, too. Congratulations and have a safe trip.

Totally selfish here, but who's minding the mint, blogwise, when you're 'cross the pond?

Also, I have some reviews of 7/18/07's comics at my blog. And on Monday, I'm starting a blog on Iron Fist. It's written already so it will be up on Mon. I'd love for people to take a look.

Christian: tough break, brother. Try to ride it out.

Hey, Geoff, congrats on the doctorate! I know that's a hell of a lot of work. And hey, your being Dr. Geoff can only help class up the comics blogosphere a little bit. :)

Speaking of, a couple of buddies and I have recently gotten our comic blog, Jimmy Olsen's Blues up and running. We're still trying to find the blog's voice, as we bounce between silly and fairly serious, but we've gotten some pretty decent stuff up already, IMHO. Why, just yesterday, I called Frank Miller a whore and a hack! (Speaking of classy...) Feel free to drop on buy if you get a chance, and enjoy your trip abroad! Good luck!

bah! I'm seeing this site for the first time on IE 6.0 on a PC out here at my mom's house and THE HEADER IS ALL F'D UP!!! goddammit! Y'know... this is what I hate the most about being a webdesigner. goddammned cross-platform/obsolete browser version designing!!! Not to mention that Microsoft can just go suck it for all I care.

Anyway, to all you peeps who do not see a very nice header whose images are not running off all over the place, I apologize. I only have G's pc lap top to double check my Mac-made designs on.

ah well...

Marc: (sorry I am in a hurry but wanted to address this one): Blogging will continue as normal, except that the UK gets new comics on friday instead of wed so I will be two days behind on that.

Dunno if anyone's still checking out this thread, but I've got a question for those of you on Myspace, Facebook, etc. How do you decide who your virtual friends are/aren't? What are your standards? Who do you accept, who do you reject, and who do you approach?

neilshyminsky said...

troy: I accept anyone that I don't mind talking to or seeing my profile and pictures and I reject anyone that I'd rather never speak to or know what's going on in my life. I generally only approach people who I'd specifically like to talk to. So I accept people that I'd never bother searching out.

troy: I accept anyone who does not look like they are trying to sell me bad pornography.

Neil, Geoff: Wise policies. I'll keep 'em in mind as I cobble together my own. Thanks.

Geoff: So peddlers of good pornography are okay? ;)

Controversy hits as I shamelessly promote my blog/slash (the /slash is not a typo, the "slash" is for extra slash) yell through the interweb at my friend for dissing on my robot compatriots on national television: http://kicksplode.blogspot.com/
